Forklift Training Programs
 


5 Star Academy's forklift classes are designed to train students who have no prior knowledge or experience to become qualified forklift operators and obtain an entry level position in the warehousing industry. 

           The student will gain the knowledge and skills to operate a forklift in a safe and professional manner and to obtain employment at an entry level position.  The student will be in compliance with OSHA federal regulation CFR1910.178 which state that "Only trained and authorized operators shall be permitted to operate a powered industrial truck" (forklift).  5 Star Academy is approved and regulated by the Colorado Department of Higher Education, Private Occupational School Board.  The graduate receives a Certificate of Completion.

 5SFLT-V    FORKLIFT TRAINING   30 HOURS

           This program is designed to meet the needs of students with no prior knowledge or experience in forklift operations.  It includes 10 hours of classroom instruction, 10 hours of lab instruction, and 10 hours behind-the-wheel experience (includes exam).  30 clock hours - approximately 3 - 7 days. The program is divided into three courses. The graduate receives a Certificate of Completion.

  • Forklift Knowledge - Classroom studies on industry-related material, such as types of forklifts, forklift operation, forklift safety, maintenance, refueling and recharging.

    Forklift Lab Studies - Understanding vehicle systems and vehicle safety inspections: brakes, suspension, hydraulics, gauges, and types of tires.

    Forklift Operating Skills - Hands-on experience operating forklifts in a variety of situations.

5SFLT-VI    FORKLIFT TRAINING   10 HOURS

           This is a refresher course for the student's two (2) year re-certification as a Forklift Operator. It includes 3 hours of classroom instruction, 4 hours of lab instruction, and 3 hours behind-the-wheel practice (includes exam). 10 clock hours - approximately 1 - 2 days.

           This program is divided into the same 3 courses as 5SFLT-V; the difference is the time allowed for each course is reduced in accordance with the program objective.  The graduate receives a Recertification Card.
